About NEWS WATCH And Its Editor Ray Mossholder
I’m guessing you care what’s happening in the world or you wouldn’t be checking out this website. I’ve never known a time in all my life when knowing what’s going on in the world is so important. MAJOR changes are taking place in America and the whole world RAPIDLY. And this one is the strangest mix of Republican and Democratic candidates running for president in 2008 that I’ve ever seen in my 70 years of watching.
I have two ways for you to keep up with the most important news AND the race for the White House: (1) This NEWS WATCH website; (2) My NEWS WATCH commentary that I’ll e-mail to you nightly. Either one or both are free. Come back here often or let me know you want the commentary by e-mail at raymossholder@gmail.com
You need to be prepared for the changes that are coming and know how you, your family and friends can best handle them. To help you with that will be one of my greatest aims.
Rush Limbaugh is a kick to listen to. He’s so feisty. He has just one flaw I think makes him - even the great “El Rushbo” - less than he could be for America. He ALWAYS sees Republicans good, Democrats bad. If a Republican does something wrong, Rush will excuse it. If a Democrat does something wrong, he will order him or her crucified. I’m NOT like that. I believe the truth needs to be known no matter what its party affiliation.
Funny how life happens. I began as a newscaster and disc jockey at KKIS in Pittsburgh, California in 1966 (that could easily be before you were born!) Very quickly I became a freelance reporter for KCBS in San Francisco as well. In late 1966 I became news director at KEAR-fm, a Christian station, which at that time was in San Francisco and I stayed there until 1970 when God called me to go into all the world for Him.
These were the turbulent “Hell no, I won’t go” years of the Viet Nam War and constant protests. I interviewed everyone from Dr. Billy Graham, Coretta Scott King (Martin Luther King’s wife) and the first “Batman” (Bert Ward) to James Brown, Joan Baez and Simon and Garfunkel.
These were also the beginning days of the hippies, the Jesus Movement, the “Summer of Love” and SO MUCH MORE. They were years that made lasting history and I had the joy of covering it all with newscasts. CBS even sent me to be the lone newsman covering the Port Chicago riot near San Francisco. That was when 200 university-aged kids laid down in front of napalm trucks and kept them from driving into the port. That day with interviews and hourly news reports, I did not only national but the entire international coverage for the whole CBS network. Wow, was it fun!!
I was best known for two things on radio: (1) my particular style of delivering the news and (2) for my news analysis that led to the commentaries I wrote and delivered every day. Soon, if you’d like, you’ll be able to hear my new daily commentaries by audio at this website. (Mark it as a “Favorite” now).
This website began as a daily news website (the recipe), including political news, but has now become a website of commentaries (the real food). You’ll find them under the globe on NEWS WATCH.
Each time I bring you up to date with what the candidates are doing, saying, or hiding, you’ll find it placed under the globe but under the map as well (in POLITICAL WATCH). From now on you’ll be able to read at least seven commentaries covering major news items each week.
One other thing, I am a born-again Christian and have traveled worldwide. I am well aware of the HUGE block of votes throughout this nation that Christians, once united, carry. Their greatest power of all is in their power of prayer. That’s why you’ll find ALL my commentaries with the final line of “America, it’s time to pray!”
I’m pleased to have my Christian brothers and sisters read my commentaries. Each of them is wise enough to analyze for themselves what’s really happening. If you’re not a Christian, please forgive me for any comments I make to Christians. You’ll absolutely enjoy these commentaries too from your own perspective. You’re wise enough to know what’s really happening, too.
Let me know your reaction to ANYTHING written in these commentaries. Also ask questions or suggest subjects you’d like me to cover. I WILL read what you write and try my best to respond to you either on this website or by return mail to you. Your name will always remain anonymous. You can unsubscribe here, too.
